On February 11th 2006 we held the second ram pump workshop, this time in Castle Bruce village at the DADS centre. The project was in collaboration with the eco club, who paid some of the money towards the pump through their eco lodge competition last year, in which we came 2nd.

On June 18th, 2005 the first water pumping workshop was held at 3 Rivers.

The first part of the day was spent investigating the uses and benefits of solar water pumping,

and students learnt how to instal a solar slow pump, and discussed its various uses,

from still deep wells to fast flowing rivers. No head required.

The second half of thye day was spent understanding and installing a hydraulic ram pump system.

The action was hands on and in the river, and before the end of the workshop,

sure enough, water was pumping out of the end of a hose and participants were able to shower...

... after spending hours in the fresh clean river!!!.
