Our wind electricity workshops looks at the fundamentals of wind energy, and the various types of systems available today.
Students are taught about the main components needed for a wind generation system, and are then given detailed instruction on how to measure the wind in any area, in order to determine the size of system that can work in any situation.
At 3 Rivers eco Lodge we have installed a sMissouri wind and solar wind turbine, at the top of a 100 foot tree, towering over the rainforest canopy. Participants are taken to the forest, and shown the installation, as well as how the wiring for the forest house has been achieved with minimal impact.
The turbine is capable of supplying a constant 1500 watts, and we have installed it to charge the same battery bank as our solar system
