General public meeting on Sustainable Backyard Gardening with guest speaker Dr. Arl Mario Casimir, a soil scientist with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of Dominica’s current backyard gardening project.

Dr Casimir will give information on the government project, which is distributing free seedlings to those who want them, and will also discuss composting and the advantages of organic farming.

With both Covid-19 and the hurricane season, already here in Dominica, we felt it was an appropriate time for us to assist our members, and potential members with a bit information on simple organic farming.

During the meeting you will also get the opportunity to find our more about SLIC’s activities and membership, as well as details of some of our current projects, helping establish local small businesses. And how we might be able to assist you develop your own project.
